Alluka Zoldyck (アルカ=ゾルディック) is the 4th of the Zoldyck siblings. They have the ability to grant wishes, which can also cause large numbers of brutal deaths. Thus, most of their relatives think of them as a tool, and not as family.

Gender confusionEdit

There is a lot of confusion about Alluka's gender. Two of Alluka's brothers, Illumi and Milluki, refer to Alluka as a brother[1][2], as does the 2004 Hunter x Hunter Official Databook[3], but Killua, the closest brother of Alluka, states that Alluka is a 'girl'[4].

For the purposes of consistency and convenience, in this article and on this wiki, Alluka shall be referred to with they pronouns to avoid upsetting anyone.

Appearance and PersonalityEdit

Alluka is shorter than Killua by half a head and has black eyes. In the past they had long, straight, unbound black hair, and wore boy's clothing[5][6]. However, at present they wear the traditional clothes of a Japanese shrine maiden, boots and a headband adorned with 4 cartoon faces. There are two small straight bunches of hair hanging down on the sides of their face, each of which is fastened by 4 hair bands decorated with the same cartoon faces on her headband.

Due to being isolated from the outside world for a long time and since they were little, Alluka, whether they are in wish-granting mode or not, has a childlike personality, as shown in their love of plush toys, actions and manner of speech. They are very fond of Killua and like to be complimented by him. Although their power has caused the deaths of many people, they do not seem to be aware of that and are actually a kind-hearted person.

Kikyo Zoldyck, because of their vastly abnormal ability to grant wishes and kill large numbers of people, Alluka is considered a tool by all of their relatives except for Killua and has been locked up by their parents in a vault, behind four 10-digit-keypad password-protected security doors at home on Kukuroo Mountain. Killua wants to ask them to cure his best friend Gon, who is on the verge of death, but his eldest brother Illumi wants to kill them because saving Gon may endanger the whole family. His younger brother Kalluto is envious of them, possibly due to their closeness to Killua.

Some information about Alluka's past was revealed through

Alluka in wish-granting mode and Mitsuba

Killua's flashback of his childhood. As a little kid, they once asked Mitsuba, a female butler of the Zoldyck Family, to do 3 simple things for them. After Mitsuba did what she was told, their eyes and mouth suddenly turned pitch-black[7]. Freaked out by this, Mitsuba called for help. Killua came and changed them back to normal by asking them to grant a simple wish, which they did. After this event, because Mitsuba reported it to his parents, Killua had to tell them about Alluka's secret : when someone fulfilled Alluka's requests 3 times in a row, their eyes and mouth would turn pitch-black, and they would change back to normal only after they heard and granted a wish[8].

To test their ability, his mother ordered Mitsuba to decline any request by them, no matter how small it was. Due to that, Mitsuba and her lover Hasama were mysteriously smashed at the same time despite being in different locations. Killua explained that this was the consequence of turning down Alluka's requests 4 times in a row[9]. Some time afterwards, Yasuha, another female butler of the Zoldycks, gave Alluka a piggyback ride at their request, activating their wish-granting mode. Giving in to her greed at the time, she wished that Alluka would make her a billionaire. Alluka agreed and suddenly a large amount of banknotes started to rain down from a blimp in the sky[10]. It was later reported that a currency transport vessel had suddenly gone missing and by the time it had been found all the money had disappeared, and the captain and crew kept giving nonsensical answers.

Illumi became interested in Alluka's power and asked

for Silva's permission to deal with the next servant to take care of Alluka, Kasuga, in his own way. He told her to listen to Alluka's requests in exchange for his tolerance of her romantic relationship with an outsider. When Kasuga was around Alluka, they suddenly asked for her liver, which Kasuga declined. Alluka followed it up with 3 continuous requests for her duodenum, spine and brain respectively, which were all declined too. As a result of Kasuga's refusal to fulfill those 4 requests, 67 people, including herself, were crushed to death at the same time by Alluka's strange power[11].

13th Hunter Chairman Election ArcEdit

Alluka is first seen in a family photo of the Zoldyck's siblings and their mother[5]. In the photo Alluka was not posing together with their mother and brothers, instead they were standing at a distance behind them and facing away. Their name was not mentioned in the manga until after the death of Chairman Netero[12], and for a long period of time readers of Hunter x Hunter could only guess the name of the facing-away child based on the information about the Zoldyck Family provided in the 2004 Official Databook[3].

Alluka officially makes their debut when Killua returns home seeking a way to save Gon. They are seen sitting unemotionally on the floor of a room full of dolls[13]. Their father, Silva, when talking to Killua about them, refers to them as an it and says that they are darkness[14].

Unlike the other children of the Zoldyck family who were trained from a very young age to possess such abilities as great resistance to poisons, tolerance to electricity and physical strength, it is stated by Illumi that Alluka has no combat abilities at all and they is just like a normal kid when it comes to fighting[15].

Alluka's Nen type is probably Specialization given the strange characteristics of their ability. Once 3 of their requests have been fulfilled, they will turn into an unknown entity with pitch-black eyes and mouth and grant 1 wish. The wish does not have to come from the one who fulfilled Alluka's requests. According to Killua, the degree of wish that Alluka can grant is probably infinite. However, the greater the wish made to Alluka is, the greater their next three requests will become. The recipient of the next three requests is not the one Alluka granted the wish to. This person must bear the cost of the previous wish and if they decline to fulfill Alluka's requests 4 times, depending on the difficulty level of the previous wish, at least two people, them and their most loved, will die. The other people who die along with them are in the order of who the recipient spent the most time with, regardless of whether or not the recipient loved that person. For example, after Kasuga declined Alluka's 4 requests, the cost of the billionaire wish made previously by Yasuha was transferred to her, and thus she, her lover, and the 65 other people that she spent the most time with were crushed to death.

According to Killua[16]:

  • Alluka is awake after someone fails to meet the unknown entity’s requests and is killed until the next person gets requested;
  • Alluka is awake after the entity’s requests are interrupted by the recipient of the requests leaving; and
  • Alluka is awake after the entity has healed something and fallen asleep until Alluka grants another wish.
