The Amori Brothers are comprised of three brothers: Amori, Imori and Umori. They are veteran Hunter applicants and always work together as a team. Thanks to that they have usually performed fairly well in the exams even though they have never come close to becoming serious contenders.

During the 287th Hunter Exam their respective ID badges are #197, #198 and #199. In the first part of Phase One, which is a marathon in a huge tunnel underneath Zaban City, the brothers are paid by Tonpa to taunt a promising rookie named Nicole, totally destroying him mentally. This shows that they have known Tonpa for some time and have worked together with him before.

Despite having trouble passing Phase Two due to the pickiness of an examiner named Menchi, the brothers, together with 21 other applicants, manage to reach Phase Four, a hunt for each other's badges on Zevil Island. After drawing lots, Imori, the most timid brother, knows his target is Killua while unbeknownst to them, Umori has become Killua's designated target. Imori then stalks and attacks Killua, only to have his own badge easily snatched instead. Realizing the kid before them is extraordinary, they immediately gang up on him. Killua however quickly overpowers and takes Amori hostage then forces Umori to surrender his badge. Keeping this badge, Killua throws the other 2 unnecessary badges away, effectively removing the brothers from the contest[1].

After being eliminated, the brothers train very hard for one year then attend the 288th Hunter Exam, confident that they will pass. However, they and the other applicants who manage to reach the site of the First Phase are easily knocked out by Killua. Seeing the huge gap in abilities between him and themselves, they decide to never take the Hunter Exam again.

TriviaEdit

  • In the 1999 anime adaptation, the three brothers go to the Heavens Arena after the 287th Hunter Exam and face Gon in a 3-on-1 match. However, they are easily defeated[2].
