Plot[]

Hunter Exam arc[]

Genner, resting on a rocking chair, is alerted by his wife Banner that guests will soon arrive. When the 287th Hunter Examinees arrive, they're greeted by Banner and Genner, and Banner introduces herself as the hotel manager. A curious Hanzo asks if the place they're at is really a hotel, and Genner confirms it while detailing its history as a converted warship. He also states that the King of Nebra once stayed there and that the place is highly praised by local celebrities from the continent who call it the White Palace. However, Hanzo accosts the two uninterested in a sales pitch and assumes they're not the proctors of the fourth round. Banner then relays a message from the Hunter Association that the real fourth phase will begin in three days, and until then, they can all enjoy themselves.[1]

Some of the examinees were relieved that they could rest and relax at the hotel. However, Banner stops and informs them that the lodging there is ten million Jenny Symbol 2011, and Genner is shown with a calculator on hand. This revelation leaves the examinees astounded by the exorbitant price of the hotel lodging. Leorio was the most outspoken about the exorbitantly priced lodging, making Kurapika reason with him. Genner then proposes an alternative form of payment; he mentions that he and his wife sell antiques as a side business. If they find a treasure in one of the shipwrecks within the surrounding area, it can be put toward their room.[1]

Eventually, the examinees locate treasures from the wreckage, and the first one shown was Pokkle, who managed to find eleven of a twelve-plate set. Genner stated that if Pokkle had found the last plate, it would have been valued at 900,000 Jenny Symbol 2011 and earned him a second-rate room. Following up from Pokkle, Gon and Killua have their treasure chest full of gems, jewels, and gold coins. Despite Killua believing it was worth ten billion, Genner appraised it as less than ten million due to the gems' quality. Hence, they, too, earn a second-rate room.[1]

Kurapika then approaches the couple and shows them the Kurta Pendant. He then asks the two if they have any information concerning the Kurta Clan or the ship where he found it. Sadly, however, Genner claims they don't know as the ship was there long before they arrived at the location and knows nothing about the Kurta Clan. A despondent takes back the pendant and is given a key to a room there.[1]

Afterward, Hanzo accosts Genner over sharing a room with Kurapika, believing what he had found was valuable enough for him to buy out the entire place. Leorio then interjects and trades his "spacious" room with him, and Hanzo happily agrees. When Genner asks if Leorio is alright with his trade, he tells Genner that he's alright with it, citing he has business with his roommate.[1]

That night, Genner and Banner relax in their room full of the treasure the examinees found for them, and Banner comments on how good that pendant was. To that point, Genner claims that something of that value deserves to stay where it belongs, and Banner agrees. Later, Banner informs Genner, who was resting on his rocking chair again, that it's time. Understanding his wife's comment, the two get on the airship the examinees rode on and look down at the hotel where their guests stayed.[1]
